Azul Fives is a beautiful family resort located in the Playa Del Carmen area of the Rivera Maya and about 45 minutes from the Cancun International Airport. It is beachfront hotel with about 524 rooms with 13 restaurants and 4 bars. I really loved this resort and it was one of my favorites that we saw. It was truly remarkable.
As we pulled up to the resort, you pull up to a beautiful lobby. At first I was a little overwhelmed with the size of the resort as it is very spread out. It is a resort that you need to connect to the different areas via golf cart. I also love the area of Playa Del Carmen and the ambiance. People here are very fun and entertaining and tend to love to serve the people. Also, I loved the green spaces inside the resort. They usually have monkeys, wild boars, and crocs located within the mangroves that are on property. This was amazing.
Pools: The main pool (by the beach) is small and very crowded, but they are opening a new larger area of the pool in November that will help with the crowdedness. Azul Fives also offers other pool areas among the room areas. There are also pools for swim up and the adult only pool.
Beach: The beach was beautiful, but it has the large structures out in the ocean to help protect the area from beach erosion. They offered lots of watersports such as hobie cats, paddle boards, and other activities.
Food: The food at this resort was delicious as it is gourmet all inclusive. It offers all organic options and very yummy smoothies for breakfast. All of the fruits and vegetables are grown on the property and the staff goes above and beyond to make the food experience wonderful. A foodies dream resort.
Beverage: The drinks are amazing!!!! Everything is freshly made with fresh ingredients. They do not use mixers to make the drinks!!! Ekkk... mango daiquiri please! I was very impressed with this and many people made comments around the pool on how wonderful the drinks were at the resort.
Rooms: We were not able to view the rooms as the resort was operating at a 99% occupancy. We did a quick peak inside the rooms and they were beautiful. They were very sleek and modern and offered a wonderful stay to the guests.
Wedding option: We were able to see the Sky Terrace where most of the weddings are located. As you enter the area, you are overlooking the main pool and beach area and you have a 180* view of the beach. It is beautiful. Great option for weddings or a large gathering.
Overall: I loved this resort. I thought it was amazing for a family property. It offered so much for my clients and I would recommend this to any families with teens and young children. They will never be board. Also, even though it is a family resort, the resort offers many opportunities for adults to have their time as well. They do offer the kids club and many other activities for children.
